Cute story
This story is about a boy moving to Canada. Little bits of information about Canada are sprinkled throughout the story, with of course first talking about poutine. He dreams about visiting northern Canada with Inuit people and learns their lifestyle and traditions. It is a cute book about Canada. The one issue I had with it was that it portrayed Canada as always being snowy and cold, which plays on this misconception about Canada.

United States Great book for any new immigrant
This book should be handed out at ports of entry for any new child coming to Canada. Through Zayd's eyes, we anticipate the great things about the country. The illustrations are bright and captivating and make the story very engaging. If I had one criticism, it is that for me, the story ended somewhat abruptly. Still, an great read and a wonderful, diverse, perspective.

What a lovely true story. As you read it you can feel the excitement felt by the little boy Zayd. The illustrations are bright and colorful and very well done and compliment the story exactly. And this is what an adventure like this should be like. No doubt moving to an entirely different country and culture can be intimidating, but here we have the idea that it can also be exciting, with a feeling of wanting to learn and integrate. No doubt about it, a lovely little book.

Very cute story. I love that this book kept its cultural integrity with involving extended family and friends at drop off and pick up at the airport. You actually feel the little boys excitement and anticipation for his new journey.
